The Slippery Noodle Inn was originally founded in 1850 as the Tremont House. It is Indiana's oldest, continually operated bar in the original building. The Noodle is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Originally it was a roadhouse (predecessor to the Holiday Inn) and a bar.
The atmosphere at the Noodle is unlike any other. It's famously historic status can be sensed around every corner, giving it a unique flavor and delightful ambience. One is made to feel welcome by the staff and patrons, making it a perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink and listen to some beautiful blues music.
Everyone likes to hang in the front bar, but I enjoy the back bar with live blues and seating area. Great place for live music and to hang out before Colts games. Nachos are my fav!!!
We had a great experience dining at the Slippery Noodle on a snowy Saturday afternoon! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had the chili with spaghetti, wings, and buffalo shrimp and enjoyed them all.
Love this place! I ate here, several years ago when in Indy for business, and wanted to bring my husband here. We finally had the chance and he, and U, were not disappointed. Cool atmosphere as an old-time Blues Club and excellent food. The fried pork chop sandwich is delicious!
What a great, historic, fun, downtown venue! Rumors are that it is very haunted (actually verified by the manager!) just makes it all the more exciting place. Great service. Best nachos I've ever had. And I'm from L.A. area.
